Mentoring is Overrated: Cracking the Code of Sponsorship

Toronto Region Webinar

Wednesday, November 9, 2022
9:00 Am TO 10:30 Am (Eastern Time)

Summary

For decades, mentoring programs have been the go-to salve for organizations seeking to expand diversity and inclusion in the leadership ranks. With so much money, time and investment made, why do we continue to see relatively little movement on the number of minority leaders at the top?

With increased pressure from Boards of Directors and employees themselves to change the game, senior leadership teams need to move beyond bias training programs and 1:1 mentoring to create broader organizational mindset and behaviour shifts.

Research shows that sponsorship is a critical ingredient for supporting systemic change.

So, how can organizations cultivate sponsorship more rapidly? How can you create a system that accelerates a culture of inclusivity and removes bias in a way that is sustainable?

In this session, we’ll look at how trust is the differentiating factor you need to rapidly accelerate sponsorship and, drawing from a client case-study, we will explore the critical success factors needed to make a broader impact.
